Compressed Air Pipe Size Calculator

Size your compressed air ring main in seconds. Enter your air demand, total pipe-run length and working pressure to get the recommended pipe diameter and the matching SecureAir aluminium pipe item code.

How it works

Compressed air pipe sizing balances air demand (flow) against the pressure drop along the pipe run. Undersized pipe wastes energy and starves your tools; oversized pipe wastes money. This calculator uses the SecureAir engineering chart (closed-loop system at 8 Bar, 5% allowable pressure drop) to recommend the right aluminium pipe diameter for your network.

Please enter a valid air demand and pipe length.

How to Use This Calculator

1

Enter air demand

Use your compressor's free air delivery (FAD) in CFM or m³/h — found on the compressor nameplate.

2

Enter pipe length

The total length of the main ring/run from compressor room to the furthest point of use.

3

Get the diameter

We return the recommended SecureAir aluminium pipe diameter and item codes (2.9 m & 5.8 m lengths).

4

Confirm with us

Send the result to our engineers for an exact design accounting for fittings, drops and future expansion.
